When childhood abuse, family wounds, or trauma have shaped how you move through the world, individual therapy gives you a dedicated space to untangle what happened and rebuild what’s possible. We help you process what happened, understand how it shaped you, and build the confidence to move forward on your own terms.
We use evidence-based approaches like EMDR to help you process memories that have gotten stuck, so healing actually happens.
Our goal isn’t to keep you coming back forever. It’s to give you tools, language, and confidence so you know it was you who did the healing.
The healing work is yours. We’re here to help you find what’s already in you and give you the tools to keep going on your own.
Maybe it started with something that happened when you were young. Maybe it’s a pattern you keep repeating even though you don’t want to. Maybe you just know something underneath doesn’t feel right, and you’re tired of pretending it does.
The past has a way of showing up in places you don’t expect it. In how you react when someone gets close. In the voice in your head that says you’re not enough. In the way you second-guess yourself even when you know better. None of that is your fault. And all of it can shift.
Therapy here is about slowing down long enough to understand what happened and what it taught you to believe about yourself. Then we help you decide what stays and what goes.

You flinch, freeze, or shut down and you're not sure why.

The past keeps showing up in your present relationships.

You question yourself constantly and second-guess things.

You grew up in a home where hurt came from the same person.

You feel like you're always managing everyone else's emotions.

You go quiet when you should speak up and explode when you wanted to stay calm.

Something inside you feels tangled and you don't know where to start.

You've been told you're too sensitive, too much, or not enough and part of you believes
You don’t have to have it figured out to walk through the door. You just have to be willing to try and we’ll take it from there.
Individual therapy is one-on-one work focused on healing from abuse, trauma, and the family patterns that came with it. We don’t see trauma as something you manage forever. We see it as something you can actually process and move through.
Here’s what happens. We help your brain process what got stuck using approaches like EMDR (that’s Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). We use metaphor and psychoeducation to help you understand how your nervous system works and why you react the way you do. We help you see the patterns. And we do it all at a pace that feels safe for you.
A session is 50 minutes. Some people come weekly. Others every other week. Some need longer between sessions. We figure out what actually works for your healing, not what fits a template. There’s no rush. Progress isn’t linear. We check in on where you are and where you’re headed so you’re never just wandering in the dark.
Not everyone heals on a 50-minute weekly schedule. EMDR Intensive sessions are designed for people who are ready to go deeper, faster in a focused one, two, or threehour block that lets the real processing happen without stopping right when things start to move. Sessions are held on Fridays in our private, comfortable space with built-in breaks, including time in our art room so you’re fully supported from start to finish.
People come to us for all kinds of reasons. Here’s a look at what our team works with most. If you see yourself here, you’re in the right place.
We are a group practice, which means when you come to Tabb Therapy, you’re not just getting one person you’re getting a team of clinicians who specialize in trauma, abuse recovery, and the kind of emotional work that most people avoid talking about. We are trauma-focused at our core, EMDR-trained, and deeply committed to making therapy feel human not clinical, not stiff, and definitely not a lecture.
What makes us different is how seriously we take giving the healing back to you. We don’t want you to need us forever. We want you to leave with confidence, language, and skills and then go live your life. Every clinician on our team leads with warmth, holds a whole lot of your story in their hands, and will call you back to your own strength again and again until you can do it yourself.
We don’t take credit for your healing. When you do something hard, grow through something painful, or finally feel lighter that was you. We’re just here to help you find your way there
We’re warm, but we’re not going to tell you what you want to hear just to make the session easier. Real healing takes real conversations. We will be blunt with kindness, every time.
We have heard a lot. Whatever you bring in with you your story, your past, the parts you haven’t said out loud you will not be judged, shamed, or made to feel like too much in this space.
He doesn’t have a degree or a single professional credential to his name. What he does have is an uncanny ability to walk into a room and make it feel like everything is going to be okay.
Gus has been part of the Tabb Therapy family since the beginning. He shows up every day, greets every person who walks through the door, and has yet to meet a single soul he didn’t immediately decide to love. He’s been called “the best part of this place.” Honestly, we don’t argue with that.
When you come in, you might find him in the lobby, the hallway, or somewhere he probably shouldn’t be. Wherever he is, consider it an open invitation to stop for a second, pet him, and remember that you belong here.

You reach out, we match you with the right clinician for what you're carrying. You fill out a little paperwork, and then you walk in. You don't have to have anything figured out. You just have to show up.
This is the messy middle, and it's where the real work happens. Think of it like several balls of yarn we sit together and figure out what connects to what. Slowly, things start to make sense. The weight starts to lift.
When you're done, you're different not because we changed you, but because you finally got to use what was already inside you. You'll have the language, the tools, and the confidence to keep going on your own.
We currently have a waitlist for some of our clinicians. If you're ready to be seen as soon as possible, reach out and we'll let you know who has the earliest availability. Don't let a waitlist stop you from contacting us it moves.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach that's especially effective for trauma. It's not hypnosis. It's not talk therapy alone. It helps your brain process memories that have gotten 'stuck.' It's offered here not required. We'll always explain what we're doing and why, and you have a say in your treatment.
No. You don't need a label or a referral to walk in. Most people start because something feels off, heavy, or stuck and that's more than enough reason to reach out.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain process memories that have gotten stuck. It's not hypnosis. It's not just talking. It's one of the most researched trauma treatments out there. We offer EMDR here, but it's not required. We'll always explain what we're doing and why, and you have a say in your treatment.
We're going to talk. I'm going to ask questions and I'm genuinely curious about your answers. I won't ask you to write a book on the intake form. I want you to save the good stuff for the room. By the end of the session you should feel heard and like there's a real path forward.
Fill out the form below and someone from our team will be in touch within one to two business days.
