Adults, Teens

I have spent over 12 years working in some of the most demanding corners of mental health. Community mental health, crisis intervention, substance use treatment, and private practice. That kind of range does something to you as a clinician. It makes you steady. It makes you honest. And it makes you very hard to surprise.
I work with teens, adults, and older adults across a wide range of concerns. But no matter what someone walks in carrying, my approach stays the same. I look at the whole person. The patterns you have been living inside for years. The stories you tell yourself without questioning whether they are even true. The places where your body has been holding things long before your mind caught up. I draw from CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, mindfulness, and narrative approaches, and I tailor the blend to fit you specifically.
I am not a therapist who stays behind a clipboard and observes from a safe distance. I am direct. I ask real questions. I share what I notice. And I will walk alongside you in this work, not just witness it. For those who want to bring their faith into the room, I offer Christian counseling and welcome that integration fully.

Anxiety, stress, and the nervous system exhaustion that never seems to quiet

Depression and the heaviness that makes even small things feel out of reach

Grief and loss, including the kind that doesn't come with a clear ending

Trauma, PTSD, and the ways hard experiences keep showing up in your present life

Substance use, addiction, and the steady work of building a stable recovery

Life transitions, identity questions, and the uncertainty of figuring out what comes next
Tammy creates a space where you do not have to come in polished. She is direct without being harsh, and warm without letting you stay stuck in the same place. She will meet you exactly where you are. She will also tell you what she sees. That honesty is part of what makes the work actually move.
Her approach is eclectic and evidence-based. She draws from CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered methods, and she tailors the mix to the person in front of her, not to a formula. Over time, clients tend to leave with more clarity about who they are, more tools for the hard days, and a steadier sense of what they need and what they no longer have to carry alone.
Tammy holds a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development, with an emphasis in mental health, from Lindsey Wilson College and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor in Kentucky. Her background spans community mental health, crisis intervention, substance use disorder treatment, and private practice with teens, adults, and older adults. With over 12 years of clinical experience and a supervisory credential, she brings both depth and grounded steadiness into every session.
The first session is really about getting to know each other. You share what has been going on. I ask questions. We start to get a picture of what you are carrying and what you are hoping for. You do not have to have it all figured out before you come in. That is what the process is for.
If you have been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something needs to change but you are not sure where to start, therapy is worth exploring. You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from having a consistent space to work through what you are facing.
That depends on what you are working through. Some people come in with a specific concern and feel ready to move on after a few months. Others are working through deeper patterns and choose to stay longer. We will talk about your goals early on and keep revisiting what makes sense as we go.
Yes. For clients who want to integrate their faith into their sessions, I welcome that fully. It is not required. It is simply available for those who want it as part of the work.
Both. I am not a therapist who only reflects back what you say. I am direct. If I notice something, I will name it. If I think something is worth challenging, I will say so. The goal is for you to leave sessions with more than just a feeling of being heard. I want you to have something to work with.
Me! And I have the dog hair on my pants to prove it.
