I have been doing this work for 13 years, and the breadth of who I work with reflects the depth of that experience. I see individuals, couples, families, and children ranging in age from 6 to 65 and beyond, and I bring the same grounded, honest presence to every one of those relationships. I am not a therapist who hides behind technique. I am direct, steady, and genuinely invested in helping you build a life that actually feels like yours.
I draw from CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Play Therapy for younger clients, and Exposure Therapy, and I offer Christian counseling as an option for clients who want their faith integrated into the work. That piece is always your call, never assumed. I understand that values are personal, and I meet every person exactly where theirs are.
I have a particular heart for veterans and for couples trying to find their way back to each other after something hard. Whether you are dealing with trauma, grief, infidelity, or a family that has forgotten how to talk to each other, I bring a calm, practical energy to the work that helps you stop circling the problem and start solving it. People often tell me they felt genuinely heard in our sessions, and like things actually moved in a real direction.

Faith-integrated counseling for those who want it
Dwayne’s sessions are grounded and real. He draws from a broad toolkit that includes CBT, CPT, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Play Therapy for younger clients. For couples and families, he brings a direct but compassionate style that helps people get to the root of what is actually happening rather than just managing the surface.
He offers Christian counseling as an option for clients whose faith is central to their lives, and he integrates it respectfully and at the client’s pace. Whether you are a veteran working through service-related trauma, a couple trying to find your way back to each other, or a family trying to stop tearing each other apart, Dwayne shows up steady and ready to work.
Dwayne holds a Master of Education degree and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Kentucky. He brings 13 years of clinical experience across individuals, couples, families, and children, with a specialized focus on veterans and faith-integrated counseling. His breadth of approach means he can meet a wide variety of clients across life stages and presenting concerns.
Absolutely not. Christian counseling is an option for clients who want their faith to be part of the work, but it is never required or assumed. If faith is not part of your life or you would rather keep it separate, we simply work in a different framework. You drive that
Yes, and this is an area I care about deeply. Military service comes with specific kinds of trauma, transition stress, and identity challenges that require a clinician who understands the context. I am here for that work.
I help couples get underneath the argument to find what is actually going on. A lot of conflict in relationships is about unmet needs, communication patterns, and old wounds. We work on all of it, at whatever pace makes sense for the two of you.
Yes, I work with children ages 6 to 10 using play therapy. Younger clients process things differently than adults, and play is one of the most natural and effective ways to work through big feelings at that age.
