In-person Sessions

Individuals & Couples

I have worked across some of the most demanding clinical environments in mental health, including crisis inpatient, intensive outpatient, and private practice with both individuals and couples. That range has given me a breadth and steadiness that shows up in how I hold a room. I do not rattle easily, and most people feel that from the first session.

I work with adults across a wide variety of concerns, but the thread running through all of it is my trauma-informed lens. I am always looking at the whole person, not just the presenting problem, which means I pay attention to body responses, relational patterns, and the stories you have been telling yourself for years without questioning them. I draw from CBT, somatic and body-based approaches, relational therapy, and mindfulness, and I tailor the blend to fit you specifically.

I will give you real feedback when it is helpful, hold space when you need it, and never make you feel like you have to perform wellness to belong in my office. I believe deeply in every person’s capacity to grow, and I bring that belief into every session. People tend to leave our work together with more emotional vocabulary, more nervous system regulation, and a clearer sense of who they are and what they actually need.

Kristen specializes in supporting clients with:

Anxiety, stress, and the nervous system exhaustion that comes with it

Life transitions and the grief that comes with change

Codependency, relationship patterns, and family-of-origin concerns

Emotional regulation and learning to feel without being overwhelmed

Self-esteem, identity development, and reconnecting to personal values

Trauma and adverse life experiences, including relational and attachment wounds

What it’s like to work with Kristen

Kristen creates a space that feels steady and unhurried. She is not going to rush you or push you to a conclusion you are not ready for. She is going to sit with you, ask good questions, and help you start to make sense of what you are carrying.

Her work is rooted in somatic and body-based approaches alongside CBT and relational therapy, which means she pays attention to what is happening in the body, not just the mind. She also brings mindfulness into the work when it fits, helping clients build a relationship with the present moment rather than always being pulled into the past or bracing for the future. By the end of the work, clients typically feel more regulated, more connected to themselves, and more confident in their ability to move through hard things.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first session is really about getting to know each other. I want to understand what brings you in, what your goals are, and what has and has not worked for you before. We will also cover some background information and talk about how we can make therapy feel like the right fit for you.

If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you want support navigating something hard, that is enough of a reason. Therapy is not just for people in crisis. It is for anyone who wants a dedicated space to grow at their own pace.

It really depends on you and your goals. Some people do shorter-term work focused on specific skills, and others choose to stay longer for deeper exploration. We check in on progress regularly so you always have a sense of where you are and where we are headed.

Both. I will listen deeply, and I will also offer feedback, tools, and perspective when it is helpful. Therapy with me is a real conversation, not just a one-way street.

That is completely welcome. Emotional expression is a healthy and important part of the process. We will always move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I am, and I will not be taking questions at this time.
