I came to this work through the long route, and I think that is part of what makes me good at it. Before joining Tabb Therapy, I spent time at an outpatient opioid treatment and recovery center, where I learned what it actually looks like when someone is trying to claw their way back from rock bottom.
That experience gave me a deep respect for how hard change is and a genuine belief that it is always possible. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and a Person-Centered approach that keeps you at the center of every decision. I am not the kind of therapist who talks at you. I listen carefully, ask the question you were not expecting, and help you figure out that the answer was already somewhere inside you. My sessions are collaborative and calm, and I stay consistently focused on helping you uncover the best version of yourself.
What people tend to say after working with me is that I made hard things feel manageable. I am direct without being harsh, and I bring a steadiness to the room that makes it easier to go to the places that feel uncomfortable. Whether you are dealing with daily anxiety, processing trauma, or just trying to figure out who you want to be, I will meet you exactly where you are and work from there.

Anxiety and the overthinking that will not turn off

Depression and the flatness that makes everything harder

Trauma and the ways the past shows up in the present

Self-esteem and building a sense of self worth that actually sticks

Life transitions and the disorientation that comes with change
Working with Zack is straightforward in the best way. He is not going to make therapy feel like something you have to decode. He is direct, curious, and consistent, and he brings a calm presence to hard conversations. Sessions are collaborative, meaning you are not just sitting there while someone analyzes you. You are actually working together.
He draws from CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts and how they feel, and he incorporates Existential and Person-Centered approaches to help people explore bigger questions about identity and purpose. Whether you are managing daily anxiety or sorting through something heavier, Zack’s goal is the same: help you uncover the best version of yourself and give you the tools to keep building on it.
Zack holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. Before joining Tabb Therapy, he worked at an outpatient opioid treatment and recovery center, where he developed a deep understanding of how trauma, addiction, and mental health intersect. That experience shapes how he approaches every client: with patience, without judgment, and with a genuine belief that change is possible.
I work with mostly adults and some adolescents & children. Whether someone is eight or eighty, the core work is the same: figuring out what is getting in the way and building something better.
Mostly it is just a conversation. I want to understand what brought you in, what is feeling hard right now, and what you are hoping therapy can do for you. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you walk in.
Yes. My background in an outpatient recovery setting means I understand the complexity of addiction and how it connects to mental health and trauma. While Tabb Therapy does not specialize in addiction treatment, I am comfortable working with clients who have that history as part of their story.
CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is a way of understanding how your thoughts shape your feelings and your actions. We look at patterns, challenge the ones that are not serving you, and build new ones. It is practical and skills-based, which means you leave with things you can actually use.
Honestly? I am putting in the work every single day.
